Tycoons
A tycoon on Roblox, like Obbys (Obstacle Courses), is a staple of the platform. What makes a Tycoon modern and appealing to me is a combination of the following things: A font that isn’t Calibri, an open-plan world that can be explored on foot or with a car, a Rebirth System that adds additional content with each level or collection of levels, a consistent theme to the game and the map, and music that conveys the theme appropriately. Here’s a sample of games I’ve played that accomplish all or most of this Wishlist of mine.
PersistentFloat’s Super Mansion collection which, although lacking in music, has multiple buildings I can build up, an Open World I can explore and pick up a few badges and Rebirth available in Version 4.
Staying with PersistentFloat, Super Treehouse Tycoon, and its sequel, offers an expansive open world where you can catch Bees with a net and trade them in for Pet Bees that offer boosts to Speed and Jump.
You can also purchase premium colours to design your tycoon the way you like it.
The next game I enjoy a lot in this space is Fruit Juice Tycoon: Refreshed by QuarkTek. It’s a classic Tycoon style from back in the day brought to modern standards. Rebirths, Daily Quests, an Open Map to explore and various achievements to work towards. Plus, a Daily Chest that gives items that can help you get to the next Rebirth Level faster.
Vanity Studio is choc-a-block full of Tycoons I really like! My top three from this creator are Army Tycoon because of its perfectly impactful selection of Music.
Navy War Tycoon because of its design.
And Kingdom Tycoon because of the unique mechanic of constantly being under pressure to keep income from crops flowing because, when a Crop Field stops yielding, income every minute drops off a cliff, making the purchase of items and upgrades a lot harder and slower.
Finally, the ultimate Tycoon for me is Ore Tycoon 2 by PlantStudios. 35 Rebirth Levels, each one unlocking layer upon layer upon layer of Tycoon! It never stops! Especially when vaults of Tycoon Bux drop regularly, and many surprises are to be found in all corners of the various maps.
