The Aspie #5 – Being Keen on… Mobile Games

I tend to find stimulation and solid mental workouts in this collection of Mobile Games that appeal to me.

Match-3 with a Twist

Match-3 is another staple of games in general. But the following selection I play bring a fresh spin to it, which I appreciate.

The first is King’s Farm Heroes Saga and sequel Farm Heroes Super Saga. I include this one because matching three of any crop adds a value of 1 to target crops next to them, which certainly focuses the mind on maximising the value of every move made! In Super Saga, which I enjoy more, matching a square of crops turns them into SUPER CROPSIES, which crucially hold their value to a cap of 20 when matched as part of a trio.

Other elements of Super Saga include Darwin the Squirrel having a Daily Adventure and coming back with Boosters and Silver. The Barn houses three tiers of offers of Boosters, Unlimited Lives and Gold on the third tier. The ribbon houses Episode Records where you will go head-to-head to do better than one randomly selected player throughout the current swathe of levels. The plant is home to the Country Show. Every complete level earns Growth that goes towards growing the plant from a 5th Place Badge to a 1st Place Badge. You will earn nothing for staying 5th to between 80 and 1,250 Silver for grinding to 1st. And the checklist is home to Quests that award Silver and Boosters upon completion. If you don’t like a particular quest, bin it with the X and a new one will be generated.

The second is also from King, Pet Rescue Saga. The current default design of it sees you collecting Stars to open chests home to Boosters. Every level passed earns Silver which can be used to buy packs of Boosters in the Shop. Gold can be purchased by breaking Piggy Banks which have a capacity of 50 each time. The environment constantly changes with new obstacles thrown in from time to time, but I like this one because there’s a fixed number of Blocks that need to be removed so the animals can drop down the very bottom to safety. So, picking those blocks off carefully is key to sustaining success.

And the third is Toon Blast. I don’t like their advertising on other Apps, yet I love the design of the characters and the music that plays in the background. Plenty of elements similar to Bus Jam with a couple of others worth noting.

Magic Hats allows you to try your luck and win a bounty of Gold and Boosters with the option to bail at any point. But if you find a Bunny Rabbit… you lose the lot!

Toon Race involves you racing against a random selection of other players to win 15 Levels and claim handsome rewards.

Star Tournament involves you collecting as many stars and possible and climbing as high up the leaderboard as you can. Finishing in the Top 10 guarantees three Hammers, while a Top 3 finish can yield up to 1,000 Gold Coins!

Crown Rush gives you up to six boosters at the start of a level so long as you keep on winning levels on your first attempt. Breaking the chain deprives you of the entire crown.

And finally, Sky Pirates requires you to work with your ‘Team’ to collect as many Stars as possible to climb the tower and unlock the rewards at each milestone. Also, being the biggest contributor earns a bonus prize.
